I've been looking at this MT blog:

And she has on the front page a 'Blog Status' box which says how many total entries, how many total comments, and when it was last update.

How do I get those stats on my MT blog?

I think that all the stats you are looking for are in MT Wiki's BlogStats topic. Oh, and MTDate will give you the last updated date.
