I've got an issue with deleting trackback spam. I've since disabled trackback functionality because it just got overwhelming. But now I've got tons and when I try to "select all" in TrackBacks in MT I get the following error:

The requested URL's length exceeds the capacity limit for this server.
request failed

This appears in a pop up window.

In addition, I get weird formatting of my spam, perhaps as a result of these long URLs?

I'm using 3.17 my host is DreamHost

Are you seeing this error only when trying to select and delete all of the spam in one go? What if you select only a single TrackBack or a handful?

It takes incredibly long for the TrackBacks page to load; probably because of the massive amounts of spam trackbacks. If I select tracksbacks for deletion from the individual entry page I am able to delete them successfully.

But look at the screen grab again. The check boxes for selecting trackbacks are not visible due to the wide table created perhaps by the long descriptions or URLs.

I just tried to filter by title, in this case there were 9 trackbacks with "real estate" as title. AFter filtering the usual formatting returned and I was able to select all 9 checkboxes and this was successfully deleted. But you can imagine either of these alterantives would be a tedious and hair pulling process.
