Full Version: Rebuilding One Individual Entry Archive File

Hi all,

I'm hoping this is posted in the right thread, if not, please let me know where it would be more appropriate to post this.

Essentially, our company uses Movable Type as a content management system for a database-driven site. As a result, I have a very large blog where the bulk of my files are Individual Entry Archive files. I would like to make some major changes to the template but I'd like to minimize the load on the server.

Ideally, I'd love to find a script that will enable me to rebuild a certain number of Individual Entry Archive files. If possible, I'd like to find a way to rebuild even just one file, so that I can test the changes to the template out. That way, if I find errors or problems from a design point of view, I don't have to rebuild EVERY file again (and we are talking about over 6,000 files).

I know there are ways to do this with CGI scripting as evidenced by this link (http://code.sixapart.com/docs/movabletype/MT/WeblogPublisher.html), but I'm just not sure where to start with this code. If anyone has used this and has an example they could post, that would be helpful as well.

Thanks in advance,
Jen

A simple way of rebuilding just one entry for testing purposes is just go to an existing entry, and save it. Works for me! Just don't hit the rebuild button in the template editing screen.....

Is that what you wanted to do?
