Our webhost had to move our MySQL database to a new server and now I cannot get MT to recognize it. The MT instsallation has not changed only the database location.

The database was set-up with the same name and login credentials. I changed the DBHost IP in the mt-config file to reflect the location of the new server.

Now when I attempt to login MT does not recognize my exisitng database and blogs and wants me to create a new account.

Am I missing a step to initialize the old database so MT can find it?

Thanks.

This doesn't say much. What is the actual error you're receiving?
It does seem like either your host did something wrong, or provided you with bad information(the new db host), though.

I do not receive an error message, just the new screen to set-up an administrator account.

I have been going back and forth with the support team at my web host and they claim everything is set-up right on the MySQL server. If it is, then I'm wondering why MT does not recognize the database?

Can you relocate the MySQL database, changing the mt-config file to reflect the new location, and then expect an exisitng MT to function the same as it did before or do you need to initialize the new database someway?

Thanks.
