Hi! Is there any documentation on how to import from Wordpress to MT? Thanks!
OtherNiceMan
Here is some information http://www.movabletype.org/documentation/a...ort-export.html MT supports the Wordpress export format WXR.

I've been to that link but it doesn't really say much. I want to replace wordpress with MT on the same server and in the same root directory. How can I do this without losing my wordpress posts and comments? Thanks!

You need to export your current posts and comments from WordPress in the WXR format.

You should be able to import that into MT, rebuild the site and they are all there.

They should be able to share the same database as the table names are different.

The disclaimer here is that I have never done this myself.

Ok, I'll try that, Rob. Thanks and keep your fingers crossed.

I imported Wordpress blogs and the system told me that the import was successful, but I don't see them in the archives. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to build my blog from scratch.

However, my problem now is this. When I installed MT it automatically built a directory where my index page can be found. But I want my index page on my root directory so that the blog appears when someone types in just my domain name. How can I do this?

Thanks again!

Did you republish your site your blog afterwards?

By default MT publishes static files rather than dynamically generating them, which is what WP does.

You can change your blog publishing path under Preferences -> Blog Settings -> Publishing.

You will need to press the padlock button to unlock the field, once you have changed the path you will need to republish the entire blog by pressing on the swirly arrows icon.
