Hi,

I'm trying to move over the blog from Wordpress to MT and I having some problems.
I can move blogs entries and comments but I'm not able to move users who posted comments.
The import works fine If I select to import blog to default "Import as me" option.
but If I select Preserve original User then it does nothing.
No errors it's just saying Import completed but nothing is imported.

Any ideas?

Which format are you using, WXR?

Yes I'm using WXR format that's the only option available at this point.

Have you set a default user for the accounts it will need to create?

I'm using option "Preserve original user"
and "Default password for new users:"

Did you republish the blog after running the import?

I just had a test and after importing I needed to republish.

There is nothing to publish at this point since the import wasn't completed.
As I said before I can do import fine with default user but not when I select option "Preserve original user".

Perhaps I missunderstanding this option but as far as I see it should import users from WP and assign a new default password for them.

Also the select blog option doesn't work in IE at all have to use FF.

I did I test an I was able to run an import with creating users, here is what I did

I took a sample WXR file from an MT bug report, a snapshot of www.majordojo.com

System Overview -> Import

Selected Blog

Selected format

Selected create users and set default password

Selected sample file and click import.

Import ran and finally said completed.

Manage entries for the blog showed entries but could not preview them.

Republished site and entry pages were created.

So, does you mt-check complete successfully?
Are you the administrator?
Are there any account names that clash with existing names?

Duh. I did't think about existing users.
I did had some duplicates.
It seems imported the bloger user but not users who created comments.

Maybe it not design for that.

I believe it just creates author accounts.
