Hi there,

I've seen blogs which show "Recent comments", typically including the first few words from each comment as a link.

I looked through the MT tag list, though, and didn't see how this'd be natively possible.  Hints, anyone?

You have two choices for listing recent comments (each giving different results):

Use MTEntries with the "recently_commented_on" attribute.

Use MTComments.

Both covered in the manual under "Template Tags"! Might want to browse through that tag list one more time.

Scripty Goddess has two different ways to do it on their site: MT hacks: Listing Recent Comments in MT.

I use a version of the 2nd option smile.gif

Ah ha!  Thanks for the super-helpful link to the scriptygoddess page smile.gif

Incidentally, while I did comb through the Comments section of the tag listing, I didn't think to check the global section which includes the "trim_to" attribute.  Ah ha!  And I also (dumbly) hadn't thought to check out the MT Entries section, where the "recently_commented_on" tag resides.

So now I'm not only learning neat tips and tricks, but also smarter ways of combing through the manual.  Thanks again!

Teeheee...I almost mentioned the "trim_to" - but I wanted to see if you'd find it on your own!  :p

Trim a guy and he stays trimmed for a day.
Teach a guy to trim and he... uh... hmm... this doesn't sound right.
