I use trackbacks in my MT3.16 to connect each of my individual entries with other related entries within my blog.
Basically, once I complete a new post, I copy its trackback url. Then I look through All Entries on the MT dashboard and find those which relate, supplement or expand on the topic of the new post. I open the editing mode for each old entry and insert the new post's trackback url in the 'url's to ping' field. Once I save the old entry, it sends a ping to the new post and voila a trackback appears at the bottom with snippet and a link back to an old post. This has really added a new richness to my site. I finally have found a good use for the trackback feature on my blog.
