OK, feeling like a nimrod about now.  What I need to know is:  how do I add links inside entries?  I tried just inserting the html in the new entry page, and that didn't work.  The answer is probably very obvious, and I'm sorry I can't figure this thing out on my own.

On a similar note:  how do I format the entries themselves?  Say I want one word bolded, or italicized, etc.  Is there a way?

If you are using IE for windows, you can highlight a word and click a button above the textarea.

Otherwise, you can use HTML.
