I was trying to help a girl to get the clickable smilies working on her site and it's me who's "in trouble" now  

This is the thing: I followed these instructions but eventually I tried everything. The modifications on the Util.pm work perfectly, meaning that I can type :grin or :anything and the image shows up ok, no problem. The clickable smilies won't show up though no matter how I edit edit_entry.tmpl  The weird thing is that when I edited this template I noticed that there are codes on there for Bold, Italic etc buttons... was i supposed to see those on my entries editing page?  I don't.

again................... would this be happening because i have a Mac?

The entry editing buttons only work in IE for Windows, I think.

It does make a certain amount of sense that the smilies wouldn't show up either, if the hack is similar to the code used for the entry editing buttons.

*sigh* yeah, it does make sense...
