After downing a pound of Starbucks coffee and searching both High and Low roads to no avail, I gave up on trying to get Imagemagick and Perlmagick to work on OSX. Common denominator.... It seems that no one has been able to do this easily on Jaguar 10.2. Even with Fink it is a real hassle with lib link errors. So, what to do.
Go to
MacconverT or
Mirror Macconvert (having some domain issues) for the solution.

I'm using OSX Jaguar (10.2.2) and Imagemagick and Perlmagick work just fine for me.

It seems you are the only one who has succeeded in this. Browsing all the perl/fink/php/apache/imagemagick groups I have not seen anyone do this without any great success.
I'd appreciate a step by step install doc on how you did this so that I can post this on help user forums. There are a zillion others who are not as technically astute as you.
Thank you in advance and I await your reply.

I'd have to agreewith Macconvert, urbandyk,.you are in the minority to install imagemagick and perlmagick on your Jaguar machine. It is a differnet story if your server set it up for you. In the MT forum there are no solutions either. Perhaps you can post to the rest of us your success story on getting IMGK and PRLMGK installes on your OSX 10.2. Why not post it here?

Didn't you just say that you found an alternative? Regardless, I'll see what I can do about writing up a step by step. (I'm in the middle of exams right now, though, so it may take a bit.) I installed about 3 or even 4 months ago when I got OSX Jaguar and I didn't have any troubles whatsoever, so I didn't really keep any notes. I didn't realize that people were having a problem with it.

Hey, it's cool, but it just seemed a little odd that I got so many PMs and emails in so short a time. The messages all said the same thing too, so it didn't seem necessary. Anyway, I'll try to help as much as I can..

Geez...quit your whimpering.. It's email!!! If someone was rude in their comments that is different. This is how one gets help by following up. I'm sure there are not that many osx users here to spam you!!!!
Remove this too!?!?!?!
Selfish remark my friend...selfish.
I'm sure you will follow up with some witty comments....
Let's all wait.

Well, we don't delete posts just to delete them... just if they're the exact same thing is copied and pasted to different forums or if a topic accidentally posted twice because of a connectivity problem or something. That sort of stuff.
I have to say, if you don't want email, remove it from your profile. And don't post on the board that you know how to do something that people desparately want to do. :) Take it from someone who gets *a lot* of emails and pm's from this board.

It was the same person (same IP) who emailed about 6 times (with the same email). I replied to the first one and they just kept sending. It was very rude. Anyway, I didn't realize that it was such a *hard* thing to do, install ImageMagick, but now that I do, I'm gonna try to write something up.

I think I may know what happened.... I think the browser (chimera) was stalled on send email..and by pressing the submit button several times it probably sent the email several times. If this is what happened then I truly appologize. If it was my doing it was not my intent to spam.

It's ok, it happens. Thanks for letting me know. I'll email you with those instructions when the holidays are over. You can see if they work for you and go ahead and post them where ever it is you want. Sound good?
