I'm thinking of using this as an events calendar for our comapny's website. From what I see, this seems to log only the day you enter some data. Is it possible for me to add an event to a date that has not happened yet?
Also, can I do the opposite? As in: I'd like to have a timeline of our company's history and would like to type in past events. Am I off my rocker?

You can enter the future or historical entry in, and after you've saved, you can go back and change the date/time to whatever you would like.

Cool, thanks for the answer. Also, can people subscribe to be notified via email when events have been added or changed?

People can sign up for notifications, yes, but you need to hit the button to send the notification for the particular entry (again, after you've saved), it's not automatic.

Can it handle 5000 emails at once?

People can sign up themselves. You can read more about how it works

Don't know. I guess the real question might be whether your server could handle it?

Ok, I was taking the easy way out. It's always helpful to know if it will do what you want it to before devoting time to learning everything about it. I really appreciate your help.

You're welcome. If you do decide to go with MT, don't forget to get a Commerical License!

Undoubtedly! We were prepared to pay $1600 for WebEvent(.com) and now I find this is way more priced in reality and is far more configurable. I'll be sure to add a donation or two on top of the commercial license if it all sets up and works correctly.

I've used pMachine and found that if I enter a future date in, it won't show up until that date has arrived. Is this the same in MT? Can I set it so it shows posts in order of today's date with dates upcoming below, and have today be the cut off date (anything that happened yesterday would not be listed)?

Future entries will display as soon as you post them. You can set entries to display in ascending, or descending order. As for displaying only today and to the future, that's not something native to MT, but you could check out
this php script.

Well, I know one thing for sure - the MT community is second to none. Thanks again!
