That's odd... there shouldn't be any HTML tags at all on the export page, actually. All of your entries still show up in list & edit entries, right?
btrott
What browser are you using? You might try using a couple of different browsers and seeing if you get the same behavior in each.
btrott
Okay... what is the URL that your browser shows in the address bar when you try to export? if you don't feel comfortable posting it here, feel free to email it to me.

What if you don't shift-click, but instead just click?

I have tried to export my database several times to no avail. This is not a huge concern at present, as I compose all my entries in Word and save the file as a text file before bringing it into MT (that way I get all the nifty editing capabilities of Word, including spell-checking, plus a copy of my entry), but it will soon be a big concern.

When I try to export (using Netscape 6.2.1), all I get is the following:

CODE
<html><body></body></html>

I have tried both ways: just clicking on the Export link, and Shift-Clicking on the Export link. No joy either way. Any suggestions? I have just re-re-enabled the NFS file locking option in mt.cfg, and also have removed the T option from the CGI files per BubbaDude's recommendations.

Right. In fact, since I installed 2.0 and made the two changes to it (enabled the NFS file locking thingy and removed the T parameter from a few CGI files), everything is working flawlessly. I am very happy. (Well, everything except the lack of images and the inability to export.)

I have ZoneAlarm Pro (a personal firewall), but  I turn it "down" when working with mt.cgi, because otherwise it interferes with being able to log in. I keep getting returned to the login screen if I forget to turn off ZoneAlarm's cookie and ad handling. Perhaps some other aspect of ZoneAlarm could be causing this problem?

I have both Netscape and IE, both at some version of 6. I have Netscape 4.something on my laptop, but haven't tried it yet for exporting. I wasn't able to get IE to make any kind of exporting noises at all. With IE I get nothing at all.

When I access the import/export page, the URL is this:

www.sonic.net/cgi/marina/mt/mt.cgi?mode=start_import&blog_id=1

When I Shift-Click on the export link (in IE), the page goes blank and the URL is this:

www.sonic.net/cgi/marina/mt/mt.cgi?__mode=export&blog_id=1

Clicking gets the same result. And now I am getting a 500-Malformed header error message when I try to save a new entry. I've started a new thread for that, but perhaps they are related?
