That's not the desired behavior, no. smile.gif We'll check it out.

ah ha, so a second save solves the problem.  i guess i was oblivious last night, because i didn't try that.  at least i left it out of my recount of what happened too.   tongue.gif

perhaps that's all that's required.  i'll be saving after assigning multiple categories going forward and if that doesn't work, i'll reply here again.  thanks!

Oh, yes, you're right, that's what it would be--saving the secondary categories just updates the database, but it doesn't do a rebuild. Glad it's straightened out. smile.gif

We should add that to the status message.

i noticed tonight that after assigning multiple secondary categories to my most recent entry (which i did upon return to the edit entry screen after saving the new post), my new post did not automatically show up on the secondary categories' archive pages.  i had to do a rebuild first.

is this how the assignment of secondary categories was intended to work?  or should those categories' archives be automatically updated as well (obviously the preferred function)?

thanks in advance!

I tried this last night, I didn't have to rebuild but I did have to save the entry when I was done working in the multiple category popup.

The second save took a while to figure out.
