I came across MyIE last night.  It's a wrapper for Internet Explorer that adds a tabbed interface, mouse gestures and other little doodads that we all love.  It makes no changes to your IE installation and you can still run IE as you have been.  It's also free.  I don't know why I'd never heard about this before.  I love it.

Personally I prefer Avant Browser.  Same idea, but I think it works better.

Thanks for the tip.  I'm typing this in the Avant Browser.  It's nice, and it looks more professionally done than MyIE, but MyIE supports more of the mouse gestures and seems a bit more customizable.  Regardless, thank goodness for these mods, they make blogging so much easier!

And if you are used to how Netscape renders sites instead of IE, you might check out Mozilla for its tab browsing options smile.gif
There's some plugins that can be downloaded for the browser that allow for mouse gestures, too!

I've been using myIE, and while the earlier versions did tend to crash on me occasionally, I've had almost no probs with most recent build.

The two most incredibly useful features for me?  The ability to define 'aliases' for Web sites I frequent, and also the option to define 'groups'.

Some (mostly self-explanatory) alias examples: mtforum, mt, mymt, bladam, and so on.  I just type any of those words into myIE's addressbar, and whoosh!  I'm off to the relevant site.

As for groups... I have defined two groups, called "daily" and "weekly" in which I include sites that I want to check (you guessed it) daily and weekly.  Every day / every Tuesday I click on those group names and BOOM!  Up pops all the sites I want to see.  Much more convenient than Favorites.

And though I'm using XP Home, on rare occasions my computer DOES freeze off and require a reboot, and invariably when I start back up again, myIE remembers exactly which pages I had open!

Since I have all my aliases already programmed into myIE2, I'm understandably loathe to switch over to a different browser, but I'm still curious... what advantages does Avant offer over myIE2?
