I think this is an necessary part and maybe worth to mention.
I already gave my hoster this info.

ImageMagick requires the Independent JPEG Group's software
     available via anonymous FTP as

         ftp://ftp.uu.net/graphics/jpeg/jpegsrc.v6b.tar.gz

to read the JPEG image format.

Apply this JPEG patch to Independent JPEG Group's source
distribution to read lossless jpeg-encoded DICOM images:

         ftp://ftp.imagemagick.org/pub/ImageMagick/delegates/
           ljpeg-6b.tar.gz

QUOTE
Was the JPEG library installed when ImageMagick was compiled? If not, IM may not have been compiled with JPEG support, and adding in the library after compilation may not work. It may require a compilation.

My hoster told me: Jpeg was already installed.

(but I do not know how to read that regarding your message).
GIF is working.
JPEG not.

After I requested my webhoster to implement the Image::Magick module I saw the new option of the thumbnail
However when I upload and I try to create one I get following error:
Thumbnail failed: Reading image failed: Warning 320: JPEG library is not available () [No such file or directory]

is this a problem if myself?
is this a problem of my webhoster?

how can I solve this easily?
thanks
