Yes, I've gotten it once. Otherwise, after saving a post, it's redirecting me to my login screen, which is weird in and of itself.

Hiya Mena - its always nice to see you on the boards smile.gif

I'm still getting this error, I just tried posting again just now.  It just seems odd that its a 404 error.  This isn't one that I've seen before, and usually its just a momentary outage that doesn't repeatedly happen.

My domain is having mail problems, but all mail that's being generated by mt is still coming through.  So its possible that there's something else not working on my domain that might cause this, although the message doesn't seem to imply that.  Hmmm...

Maybe I'll try doing some looking throughmy files this afternoon and see if there's something I'm missing.

Jill, what Aletia server are you on?  I'm on scorpion - if we are on the same, maybe it is a connection.

Thank you. Indeed that was the problem (wrong path.)

For the 3 posts that I've made this morning, I've gotten the following error:
QUOTE
Your post was saved, but the rebuild or ping failed: HTTP error: 404 Not Found

I haven't changed anything in my configuration during this time (except some templates, but nothing major that should cause an error).  I went and double checked the publicity section, and I've still got a checkmark next to "notify weblogs.com" and my MT update key looks right.

Looks like I'm not showing up on weblogs.com or movabletype.org because of this.

Is anyone else having this problem?  I would hope that its nothing my host did, but I can't rule that out  ???

Thanks,
Kristine

Kristine,

It seems that something is off with the weblogs.com ping -- if the ping isn't successful, then the MT ping won't execute.

Now, what could be wrong with the weblogs ping? I was just successful pinging the site so perhaps it was down earlier?

Is it still happening for you?

ltracey,

It seems that your CGIPath is incorrect in mt.cfg. After posting an entry, you are redirected to the host specified in the CGIPath setting. It could be an issue of www.foo.com versus foo.com in the path.

I'm getting the same problem.  It wouldn't by any chance have anything to do with the server the script is hosted on would it?  I am just curious considering all the other trouble Aletia is having.

I don't know exactly what happed with our host, but Aletia had issues all day (and all day yesterday, but a different reason :UGH!:) - we just found out that it had to do with a failed nameserver for 7 of the servers they have.  After they fixed it so our mail started coming back soon, I was able to post without this error.  So I'd guess that's the root of the problem.

Sorry to both people with this - I didn't think it sounded like an internal message, but I guess it was!
