I'm working on a new layout for my site, and I was wondering if their was a way to show all but one category on my main index page?  

Like say I wanted "Updates, Fun, Web Stuff, Ect." to show up on the main page, just as it usually would, but didn't want the "Art" category to show up because I want to create a new index for just the "Art" category.  Can I do this?  Any help is apreciated and thanked in advance and afterwords!

The most reliable way to do it is to actually write out which categories you want to display.  But there is a new plugin that does what you are looking for -- ExcludeCategories.
