And it was working fine before the upgrade? I can't see how the upgrade would have caused this, because it seems like your server just can't connect to the weblogs.com service.

I get a similar problem when I try to post,  I didn't upgrade, I installed it in a seperate folder because I host many blogs and wanted to test it before releasing it.  I get the following error.

Your post was saved, but the rebuild or ping failed: mkdir home: Permission denied at /home/web/standard/chileman/mt2/lib/MT/FileMgr/Local.pm line 88

Is it the same bug that was in 1.4?  Any help is appriciated.

Update: I have fixed the problem but I still get DNS errors when I submit anything, it posts the info but doesn't return to the page for some reason.

2nd Update: I made an error in the mt.cfg file to point to www.chrishileman.com.com woops.  Everything seems to be ok now!

This is the error I get, only my posts don't show up until after I rebuild my index pages.

Did the upgrade to 2.0 without problems, but whenever I hit post I get the following error:

QUOTE
Your post was saved, but the rebuild or ping failed: HTTP error: 500 Can't connect to rpc.weblogs.com:80 (Timeout)

The posts appears ok on my site, so I cannot initially firgure out where or what exactly goes wrong.

Yes it was working without problems before. Ifnothing in the upgrade has changed it might be a server issue somewhere. Will wait and see if it resolves itself later on.

I have posted this issue in the Installation forum, but since others are having similar (but not identical) issues with pinging, I thought I'd also add the ping problem error message I'm getting to this item:

Your post was saved, but the rebuild or ping failed: HTTP error: 501 Insecure $ENV{PATH} while running with -T switch BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/lib/perl5/i386-linux/5.00404/IO/Socket.pm line 118.

Emerald Sky, yours is different, you'll need to install File::Spec.  The instructions for this are here, under If you need to install File::Spec.
