Someone told me that the newest version of mt allows comments to be disabled on older posts.  I would prefer that users could only comment on current posts so I can keep up with the conversation.  Is this possible?  If so, how do I do it?

I'm using MT 2.63
when editing an entry - down at the bottom of the entry near the Authored On field - to the right is the Allow Comments field - for each entry it can be either 'open' or 'closed'

interesting, if i turn off allow comments on a post that has comments it wont actually change that field, as in the checkmark stays there even after saving.

anyway, the way i would do it is to edit the individual entries template to remove the add comments fields.  that way, when it gets off the main screen and they pull it up from archives there won't be any option to add a comment, though the existing comments would still be there.
