I'm thinking of setting up a password-protected blog. I'd like for it to have RSS, since I know several of the people reading it would prefer it. I have set up htaccess and htpasswd on the blog's directory.

Not all feed readers ask for user name and password when setting up a feed. So how, then, could that be configured? I tried to do some searching on the web, and found something along the lines of http://username:password@www.whatever.com/ but that doesn't quite work. I think it might be close, though.

I know this is out of the scope of MT but since RSS is all the rage right now (it seems) I thought that someone else might have encountered this issue.
