Full Version: automatically create links?

I've heard of this somewhere, but am not sure if such a thing exists for MT.... If not, it would be an interesting plugin, if so, can someone point me to it?

I'm looking for a plugin that would automatically turn words into links.  It would involve a predefined list of words and links that would allow me to only use the word in my text and such word would be turned into a link at compile time.

For example:  I would write an entry that references Wal-Mart.  The term "Wal-Mart" would be in my list of predefined terms, and would be associated with the url http://walmart.com.  When I save/publish the entry, this plugin/parser would check the entry for words that are in the predefined list, and upon seeing the word "Wal-Mart" would automatically make it a link to walmart.com.

This could allow for references to outside sources that would automatically be linked each time I write about it, rather than me having to link to the site each time... another example, when posting something about a CNN article.  Using the term 'CNN' would automatically turn it into a link to http://cnn.com.

Anything out there like that, yet?

Try MTMacros: http://mt-plugins.org/archives/entry/macros.php

Thanks cracker!  That worked perfectly, and opened up a bunch of cool ideas.

Appreciate it!
