Full Version: Two category archives

This may sound strange but it is what I'd like to do: produce two separately-formatted archive sets for categories.

That is, I need a second set of category pages with a very different format for a different purpose -- a special feed of the data. Style sheet changes won't suffice, as there would be HTML in the output that is beyond the specification.

It LOOKS like it should be possible, and the documentation tells how to do two monthly archives. But when I define a second category with a new archive templates and in the configuration, I get an either/or radio button. I can't select both. That means, I think, that if I deselect the regular archives to produce these, the main blog will have links to the special-format category archives instead of the real ones.

(not related to the question on how to produce archives-ty-shared-titles that I posted also on this forum)

The Radio Button is only the default -- the one it links to if you point at a category archive. Both sets will be built smile.gif Heck one of my blogs has 4 different category archives, none of which are standard web pages.

(odd circumstances, involving multiple blogs)

Thanks -- must be something else I'm doing that it's not being built. I'm specifying the template as

CODE
home/cat_<$MTArchiveCategory dirify="1"$>.html

... for the secondary archives, no spec for the primary category. Maybe that's where I'm going astray...

Now it's working. Strange. I don't THINK I did anything differently this time, but I must have.
