How can I hand-add to the pop-up Trackback window an occasional site that doesn't use MT (and thus can't ping our site) but that talks one of our specific entries? When a site-user clicks that link to the Trackback window, he hopes for a list of sites linking to the relevant entry. A list of just-MT sites is a start; but frankly, most sites that link to us are not blogs.
I can't find any MT tags that change a Trackback display by conditioning on the relevant individual entries or categories. Thus, I can't add anything to the Trackback window that isn't either automated or global to all Trackback windows. Maybe I'm missing something? It's great that Trackback is automated; and the automation works as promised! I'm impressed and delighted. But to move further with this terrificly useful idea, I need occasionally to be able to break in by hand!
Examples of sites I'd like to hand-add include sites that are not blogs, or a site that is a blog but doesn't use MT and hence can't ping us, or even a site that is a blog and uses MT but does not know how to ping us (and frankly, we've found it an unproductive strategy to try to instruct other bloggers whose content our users may enjoy but who are simply not interested in working through how to use trackback and pings).
I apologize for repeating in Tips and Tricks an unanswered question I asked previously in Trackback-Related Problems. This is not a problem, but a question, or perhaps a request for a trick, for a plugin, or for a minor improvement to the fundamental code for Trackback. Anything that would let me condition by entry-title would work.
Thanks.
Lauren
