I have read the manual. There really isn't much there that I could find on setting up the category feature in mt. I have also done a search here in the forum for the questions I'm about to ask but did not come up with anything similar. So far I have gone into "WEBLOG CONFIG", "Preferences" and then under "Archiving" I've selected "Category". Next, under "Archiving" I selected "Category" under "Archive Type" and under
"Individual", "Category Archive" is selected. I'm not certain the above is the correct way to go about setting up categories. My question is how do I now select the categories I want to use? On the "NEW ENTRY" screen there is "Primary Category" with a pull down menu to "Select" and I'm supposing there must be a way to format it so that there are different categories to select from. I would really appreciate your help in this regard.

Maggie, click on the "categories" buttin in the author interface (in the sidebar running down the left); you should see a list of box fields where you can enter the names of your categories, and then all you have to do is save and rebuild; you'll be able to select those categories (and add new ones) from the drop-down menu when writing a post.

Does that help?

Donna, thank you so much for not treating me like the brain-dead person I felt like when I read your reply. You would think the "categories" button in the author interface in the sidebar would have been quite noticeable huh?? wink.gif Categories seem to be working like a charm now! Thank you once again Donna!!
