I'm getting into MT, so here is my question.

Blog#1 has different categories and archiving.

Blog#2 is a blog without categories, no archiving, only one page. Now I want to display the categories on the sidebar of Blog#2.

Do I have to set something like <$MTBlogID1$> to specify and to display the categories from Blog#1, otherwise MT will display the categories of Blog#2, which are empty?

I hope I have described all in understandable english... 8-)

The easiest way might be the OtherBlog plugin. The other method would be to set up an plain plain plain index template (no DOCTYPE, no HTML tags) in blog 1 showing category information, and set that to output to a text file that you can include using PHP or SSI in the sidebar of blog 2. This is what my plain template looks like to show the last three dates and entry excerpts from a given category, and this sidebar is where I use it. OtherBlog is certaily easier wink.gif

Does that help?

Thanks a lot, the plugin seems to be the right solution.
