Full Version: MT for a church website?

I'm helping a church run a website with FrontPage but the pages don't get updated often enough because all the changes have to come through me.

I think MT would be great for allowing a few trusted and trained folk to add news each week and to blog relevant interesting external stories, but how should we go about the more static information pages about groups, youth work, photo galleries, sermon transcripts and audio etc.?

Should I mix MT with other tools or squeeze it all into MT?

Are there any resources on how to build sets of navigable MT pages?

I am planning on doing just this when MT Pro comes out. I've already moved out newsletter to MT (http://www.realencouragement.org/), and that worked very well.

For the static content, I'm planning on setting up categories for each static block, and then using something like

CODE
<MTEntries category="..." lastn="1">
...
</MTEntries>

From what Ive read, the improved category support with hierarchical categories in MT Pro will help this tremendously. With the current MT, you need to think like a programmer, not a web designer, to create your templates (a lot of If's)

Thanks.

So will there be a non-profit version/license of MT-Pro? ohmy.gif

I'm also keenly awaiting TypePad biggrin.gif
