Has anybody had any problems with the new version of MT?
I've recently moved MT to a new server, and used the upgrade version when I re-installed.
We are running 10 unique users on a single blog, each with their own permissions: some with more than others.
The index page was .htaccess password protected, until the following problem cropped up.
When posting a new entry, the MT app will pass the data to the database, but will then default to a new MT login page. When re-logging into the app, one is able to select the new entry, and re-save it (which will cause a successful rebuild).
The old server and old MT version seemed to work fine.
any thoughts?

Is that when posting with the bookmarklet, or actually going to the site and clicking through? Is the CGIPath 100% identical to the URL people are using?

No, it's actually going to the site and clicking thru.
And No, the CGI Path is different from static files.

Mark's question didn't have anything to do with the static files.
He's asking if your CGI Path is correct, i.e., if you login to MT at
http://www.yoursite.com/mt/mt.cgi, then the CGI Path should be
http://www.yoursite.com/mt - so, is it correct?
It could also be a cookie issue of some sort.

I'm having a similar problem. I moved my 10+ user/1 blog site to a new server (from linux to openbsd) but I didn't change versions (still using 1.4).
when I finally realized that I wasn't going to get past the db_upgrade problem (no matter what I did, including upgrading db on the server) I did the export/import and it worked.
the problem started when I realized that the only MT account that would log in was the one I had to create during the install.
I'm just weeding through the forums looking for solutions. I'm prepared to delete all the accounts and recreate them (my users will understand) but it seems like a sloppy solution.
as far as I can tell, the accounts got created during the import but the MT permissions and the MT passwords got hosed.
any ideas???

As I understand it, the other accounts were created automatically because they had authored some of the entries you imported. The accounts themselves were neither exported nor imported. They should all have the password you entered on the import page for newly created accounts.
Sorry if this isn't so with your version; I'm only familiar with the current ones.
