Hi.
I've asked about this before, but never really got an answer to my problem, so i'm trying again...

-----

I've been using MT to build\manage this site i made a while ago. I have a bunch of different 'authors' writing entries, and everything worked perfectly until one of the authors decided she no longer wants to be on the site.

I removed her from MT using the add/edit weblog authors option, and while she and all of her old entries are no longer visible when I use the MT interface - all of the old entries are still visible to people who are viewing the site. Her entries are still listed in the site's main index and archive listings, no matter how many times i try to rebuild...

The thing is, the entries aren't listed in the MT menus - they just keep getting listed in the HTML that MT builds for the archives and indexes...

Is there anything i can do to get her old entries out of the system? I don't mean just deleting the HTML from the server, because that would just 'break' the links in the index lists.

(I don't think looking at the site would really help any of you, since it's in Hebrew... but if you're interested, it's right here.)

thanks in advance...

try rebuilding the index ? or export the blog delete it then cre8 a new blog and import them !!
o-mer
ohmygod that's crazy.
anyone have a ... simpler idea than exporting and importing..?

(it might work but there are SO MANY entries to go through...)

oh and i've tried rebuilding a few hundred times i think. it doesn't help.

thanks,
omer.

MySQL or Berkey DB?
o-mer
uhmn, when i installed MT i remember there were two options: either not doing anything, or switching to mysql.

i did nothing.
so i'm guessing the "Berkey DB" is that default-non-mysql-option?

if it is, then that's what i'm using.

any ideas?
thanks, omer.

u m***n

If that was an attempt at name-calling, please don't do it again. It's not very helpful, and certainly not indicative of the type of atmosphere we want to promote here. sad.gif

ok, so,
does anyone know how to mess with the berkey db?

because it really *is* going to be complicated for me to export everything into a text file and import it into a new blog.

i'm not saying impossible, just... complicated.
(too many templates, too many authors... etc.)

thanks.

Try this:
  • Install MT-Medic
  • Go to Authors and assign your quandam author to the appropriate blog
  • Log out of MT-Medic and into MT
  • Edit Entries and go to the power-edit screen
  • Filter by Author is quandam author
  • Select the delete checkbox in all the entries
  • Click the delete button
  • Bob should, at that point, be your uncle.

i have no idea whether MT-Medic has anything to do with it, but i did install it, and now i found the author's old entries in the power-editing mode.
(which, i haven't ever used before, so i may have just missed it.)

anyways, everything's fixed! biggrin.gif

thank you very much!
omer.
