When MT creates a page name [archive number].html. i.e.:

http://www.lurid.org/archives/000110.html

Is there any way to rename this file to something else and keep your my intact? i.e.:

http://www.lurid.org/suicide_chat.html or
http://www.lurid.org/archives/suicide_chat.html

I know I can just manually copy the files, but they would get lost when I did a rebuild, right? And all pages linking to the old 000110.html would be broken links. Right?

All feedback is apprecaited.

Sure, you can use Archive Filenames and name the file based on your title, if that works better for you. In the Weblog Config under Archiving, you can put this in the box next to Individual Archives...
CODE
<$MTEntryTitle dirify="1"$>.html

That will keep the entries in the archives folder, and the dirify will make the title more suitable for a filename.

This also makes it so that any archiving listing will now have its links updated to this format when you rebuild. smile.gif
