Many readers have asked me why they can't highlight, copy and paste the text on my weblog.

Here's a clue: While they can't copy and paste from my weblog they *can* copy and paste from a search results page on my weblog.

A reader writes: "I'm able to on other MT sites so i dont think it's my browser (just IE 6 on xp)."

So there's something in the main blog coding that causes this function to go screwy. What is it?

I recently read somewhere about this type of problem being cause by a missing (or incorrect) z-index specification in style sheets.

Make sure your page and style sheet validate.

I'm afraid I'm but a humble word person, not an alpha geek. So how do I do what you suggest?
