Hi guys,

I have set up MT to use 2 blogs, i've incorporated the two blogs into my main front page of my site.

What I would like to do though is use MT to control all my static pages - but still have the ability to update the pages via my own editer/ftp

How do i do this? I've read numerous articles and so far not really found a good way of doing this.

Just in case you need the site to see what i'm talking about you can go here:Concept79 - front page

I am currently running two blogs - the daily concept blog and the news/updates blog - these are both incorporated into the main page by a SSI's

Do i control the static pages with index templates or categories or even seperate blog for each static page??

Please help ..

Thanks

Colin

I think what you would probably want to do is create a new index template and then link it to another file, from the manual:

---
Often it is easier to edit the contents of a template outside of the Movable Type web application; for example, many people like using a text editor with code highlighting to edit their HTML. Linking a Movable Type template to an external file allows you to edit your templates using an external application, while keeping the copy of your template that is inside Movable Type in sync with the external file. The synchronization process works in both directions: when you load a template for editing, the linked file is checked for a more recent copy; and when you save a template through Movable Type, the linked file is updated with your changes.

You might also want to look at Matt Haughey's article Publishing Your Entire Site With MT.

Does that help?
