For some reason, all my entries have disappeared from my berkeley database. All the authors and other settings are still recognized and normal...even the comments are still there...but months of entries are just missing (even though the individual html files are present).
I'm assuming that it's a single corrupt file...but how do you fix that sort of thing? Can you even fix it?
And one more question, how hard is it to convert to MySQL? From what I understand, db corruption is a lot rarer than with Berkeley.

The bad news: if your Berkeley DB is corrupt, it's almost impossible to fix sad.gif The good news? It's very easy to covert to mySQL - here's a tutorial on how to get started with mySQL. Is there any chance you exported your entries recently? If not, you may be headed for a session of cutting and pasting to get your old entries into your new database.

My condolences - but you'll love mySQL - it's great.

Does that help?

I was afraid of that...I had to do that a few months ago when the same sort of thing happened. Even my backup is corrupt...I guess that's the price I pay for being dilligent about keeping recent backup copies.

Ah well...cut and paste it is then. I'll give MySQL a shot.

Thanks for your help.

The only problem is that I know absolutely nothing about MySQL. My other big problem is that I am running on Windows XP, which only further exasperates my situation (no CPanel for me sad.gif )
