Is there anyway to dictate the order in which Categories are displayed in the MTCategories tag?
They appear to be displayed alphabetically rather than by CategoryID Number. Displaying them by CategoryID would be fine as long as I could renumber the CategoryID's without having to go hand fix a bunch of entry links. Anyway, if anyone can offer any kind of a solution for this problem it will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
P.S. Also, does anyone know of a plugin or anything that allows for category nesting? I.e., if I have a category fiction, and I want to have subcategories of sci-fi, religious, erotic, horror, fantasy, western, romance, etc.?

MTCollate will help you sort in whatever order you want.

There are at least three different approaches to subcategorization and not that I think about it, there's four.
1. Use the
MTSubCategories plugin.
2. Using
MTOtherblog plugin.
3. Using
MTCollect plugin.
4. Using
MTCollate plugin in combination with
MTKeyValues plugin. The MTCollate attribute distinct will allow you to do groupings.
If you search for subcategories in this forum, you will see the different approaches and maybe be able to select what best suits your needs. I've used #3 and #4 on my site. Couldn't use #1 because it requires a perl module my host doesn't have or want to install. And #2 I didn't want to keep adding categories as an admin. #3 and #4 methods could allow you to create as many subcategories as you want without adding additional fields. The approach for #3 and #4 do take a fair bit of upfront planning.
hope this helps
