I've just started with MT, but already I love it!

I'm hoping to adapt the blog centric tool for a news and events Web site. In order to do this well, I need a mechanism for sorting entries by priority numbers.

For example:

On the main page I'd like to have a "top headlines" section that gets updated weekly. The top headlines could be pulled from multiple categories. Is there a way to grab certain entries from multiple categories?

I went shopping on the mt-plugins.org Web site. I'm considering using one of the following plugins.

1) KeyValues
2) FilterCategories
3) Collate

Essentially, I want to specify certain entries as being more important than others. SO that on my main index page(s) I can sort the entries according to what is editorially more important.

Thanks in advance for your insight guys...

If anyone was interested in this post, "sorting entries."

I decided to used the "KeyValue" plugin. Using this plugin has allowed me to flag certain entries, and then filter those entries out on my index pages.

By default the KeyValue plugin looks for a key/value pair in the extended entry field, however... I wanted to use the extended entry field without having to worry about the key/values showing up in my content.

So I changed the source to look at the keyword field instead. Changing the source of the key/value pairs is part of the KeyValue plugin.

Check out the plugin. Many thanks to Brad Choate!
