Images are disabled in signatures using BBCode - those who have them are using CSS and HTML to generate the appropriate code - but "appropriate" is a loose term.

A word to those who read after you, dotpitch: Gentle Reader, please be kind to readers of the forum and avoid cluttering up the valuable information here with a signature that contains enormous pictures of your dog. Avatars are turned off in the forum because we want to focus on what you have to say and the questions you ask. If your dog is cute, send me the link - I promise to look!

OK, and now that I know and succeeded in adding a very little stone (no dog at all, maybe underneath but I haven't checked) I removed it.
You're wright. It would be distracting attention from the topic themselves.
