Full Version: Plugin Manager Error 500

Okay, so I'm having a rediculous time trying to get plugins to work because I don't know where to put the files from the Perl Modules I need (like Weather::Underground for example).

So I decided to use the plugin manager to see if that would help. I get the "Error Retrieving File! Code=500" error as mentioned on the mt-plugins page. So I clicked on the Bug #68 link and got another error:

ERROR: Access Denied

Fun huh? wink.gif

So what are my options here? If it's a bug I can't get around, I can't find any information on how to install Perl Modules. I may be daft, but I've spent the past hour searching for information on where to put .pm's and .tmpl's for specific modules..

Thanks! smile.gif

What a coincidence - the same thing just happened to me. I don't even have MT installed in the CGI directory.

Hmmm... that is funny, because the page says the error is supposed to be related to having it in the cgi-bin directory... hmmmm...

Problem fixed! The source is not having the plugins.xml file. I put it in the plugins directory and presto.

Plugins.xml? I don't see that file in the 'plugins manager' package. Where did you get this file from?

Thanks!

In the left hand column, there should be a link under Plugin Updates XML, labelled Update Manually. I believe that clicking on it will generate the list? Something like that. What happens if you click that link? smile.gif

OK, I just looked at the Bug Page (as suggested here, and it suggests a workaround, if you get a 500 error on the first time doing tag. Download this file, rename it to plugins.xml and upload it to your plugins directory. I guess you then try and update manually?

Does that help? smile.gif

I didn't update manually; I just went through the prescribed installation, and it worked out.

Good luck:)
