Is there a way to ban certain words from being used by commentors?
oscarf
Maggie, does this thread on censoring bad words help?
maddy
And this thread also talks about using the Macro plugin. smile.gif

Hello there oscarf wink.gif . It seems that the link Spartacus speaks of is one of those people that wanted to help originally, but now they want you to jump through 350,000 hoops before you will actually obtain an answer. Being carbon monoxide challenged at the present I'm in no mood to jump...lol. Any other ideas??

You can use MT-Blacklist as a general purpose filter. Instead of (or in addiont to) blacklisted URLs, add your favorite naughty words. And yes, it supportt regular expressions. tongue.gif

Clicking a single additional link to get to the new location of Lynda's entry doesn't come close to "jumping through 350,000 hoops". What's with all the hostility toward someone who merely offered a hack which quite a large number of people have found useful? sad.gif

Well, I personally am so inured to hostility that it takes a chunk of concrete to the skull a couple of times for me to notice it, but, as a healthcare person, I can say that:

Withdrawal from 40 years worth of nicotine, tar, carbon monoxide, acetone, ammonia, formaldehyde, hydrogen cyanide, methane, naphthalene, nickel, cadmium, and {gasp} vinyl chloride which, at a pack per day equals about 150,000 doses of these chemicals in one year, up to 90 percent of which remains trapped in the lungs, can put a person on edge.

And I would say that, if I didn't already know Maggie to be a testy one from the get go wink.gif

Anyway, FWIW, I think Stepan's suggestion is the most efficient, especially considering the recent comment-spam burst as well - even on my remote little site sad.gif

Maggie
Thank you so much oscarf smile.gif I am off to have a look at that thread now.

I have installed MT-Blacklist Stepan. Very cool btw!! My question is...can you blacklist single words or is it for urls only?
