Hi Everyone,

I'm being faced with a dilemma right now...

I have started creating a blog site for launch on New Years day, and I have sections of the site (music, web design portfolio, movies, etc)

As of right now, I have created 4 or 5 different index templates for each of the "subsections" I would like to have on the site. So if I have to delete them, it's not a big deal.

Should I create a new weblog for each of the new sections? or should I go on using the index templates I have created?

I have the backups of the layouts of each "subsection" as well as the CSS file in DW MX 2004...

Any advice/suggestions on this dilemma would be greatly appreciated.

If you use one weblog, you'll have to work some magic to make categories use different templates.

If you create a separate weblog, you'll have to work some magic to make a single index page that lists the entries from all your "categories."

I would go with categories. smile.gif John of John's Jottings says how here, with the MTCompare plugin.

Categories it is... seems like the easiest most painless way to accomplish what I want to do...

Question is, how do I link to a category... I have my links all over the place....

In the left nav, where my navigation system, i have some text.... and then a link to movies... then some more text, and then a link to music... more text, a link to my portfolio... etc...

How can I do this?

If Movies is a category, your link might look something like

Just put that in wherevever you want a link to that category.

Does that help?

Hmmmmmm not a bad idea...

Another problem has arisen as well.

if you go to http://www.smokeandashes.net, you will see that all her blog entries are showing up in one box (the 4px double border one).

I'd like a similar setup. Matter of fact, that's exactly how I want my page to look.

If you go to my temp blog site (http://justin.dreaminginto.com), you will see that my blog entries are showing up in a box of their own... is this an MT thing or a CSS thing?

Thanks In Advance,

The #content section of your stylesheet is what controls the border of the section where your blog entries are. smile.gif
