Hi
I've just been experimenting with my template's CSS have changed the blog entry borders to a dashed rather than solid line. Why, when I scroll, do the vertical borders become partially solid in places? Bizarrely this only happens when I use the scrollbar arrows or the wheel on my mouse and
not when I drag the scrollbar itself. I'm using IE6, incidentally. Is there a way to stop this happening?
LinkThanks.

Oops, sorry. I put the lines back to solid after I noticed a couple of other sites that suffered the same problem. I've now put back the dashed lines if you want to take a look again.

I've actually noticed that happening on every single page I've ever coded to have dashed borders -- when I was using a PC. I think this is a bug in Windows, because now that I'm working on an iBook, this never happens.

More than likely a bug with IE6. It is fine in Opera 7.23.

Yep. It's a redrawing nonsense thingy with MSIE.

Ahh, that explains it. Thanks.

Hmm... The dashed border usually works fine on my new computer with IE6, while the old computer with IE4 cannot see dashed borders and displays them as solid. So maybe that's the problem you're encountering instead of a bug?

There are a number of documented bugs with borders in IE6. Most of the suggested solutions include changing the width from 1px to 2px, but whether or not that will fix this problem, I don't know.
