Full Version: Build MT into webpage?

I'm not a web programmer or designer. I want to incorporate it into my website for some of the content. However, I already have the site designed and assembled. How can I implement MT into my HTML pages?

Here are the pages into which I want to implement MT. MovableType would handle the content, but the sidebar and header would remain the same.

You can view the source of the pages, but I'll tell you that I have three tables. The top banner is one table, beneath that is another table with one cell on the right for the content, one cell on the left holds another table that hosts the sidebar.

Any help?

i dont understand what you want. it seems like either you already have MT working or you're just simulating MT in that page and what you're looking for is a regular MT installation.

which one is it?

I think you want to do something like I did on my site (still in progress) www.gypsyresort.com.

But you are coming at the problem from the wrong direction. You don't want to incorporate MT into an HTML page. You want (I think) to incorporate your static HTML page into MT. At least that's what I did.

I designed a HTML page and made a MT module out of everything inside the body tags, then called it from inside the MT index template (putting it in a table helped). You do have to do a little tweaking on the style sheet (and design the HTML accordingly) to make it fit, but if I can do it with the little bit of coding I know, anyone can.

I got it working by copying my HTML page and Javascripts into the MT templates, and just moving the MT data into the cell I had on my page.
