Full Version: Is it possible to password protect access to blog?

Hi,

I have created a "blog" using movable type, but it is only for three people to communicate with eachother and not for the public to read.

Can someone point me in the direction of a technique to password protect access to the page, like through one of those drop down windows that ask you to insert your name and password?

Thanks!

An easy way to do this -- check and see if your server's control panel has password protection. Usually, you can password a whole directory and set up usernames right through there.

Doing it through the server is the best way to password protect it. You can also do it through an .htaccess file.

The thing is this:

If someone really wants to read what you have up there, it's not terribly hard to get around an .htaccess file or a password protected directory.

It would really depend on whom you are trying to protect this from. wink.gif

Wait, what? Could you explain how you mean?
