I'm encountering a strange and unexpected problem for the very first time with mt 2.64. I created a new entry, but when I enter the body, even if it's simple text, the body entry comes back blank.

How can I troubleshoot something like this? I've had no problem with the latest rev. of mt since installing and using it back in October. But suddenly, something is wrong.

My Webpage

I've contacted my ISP to see if there is a hard disk space limitation or write-privilege that is messed up. I'm just guessing at trying to figure out what has caused this problem... sad.gif

Out of curiosity, are you using a 3rd party upload tool like zempt or iblog?

Or are you making entries directly in the MT "add entry" page.

Also, are you sure you have your entries set as "publish" on the bottom and not "draft"?

No 3rd party tools. I'm within the mt interface and hitting add new entry. I'm saving the item as a 'draft' as I customarily do first -- I'm not publishing yet.

However, it's when I save the draft which automatically returns me to the entry screen, that the main body content has simply disappeared from the main content form field/text entry box -- and no error message in site. Very strange. I've never encountered this before in creating 150+ entries.

I don't know if there is a potential trigger in that when I first was creating the body entry, one of the HREFs used in the body was a link to another mt site with a .php extension in the link reference. I don't know if this confused mt and caused some kind of internal problem...it's the only thing I did out of the ordinary or for the first time.

Now I just try to type basic text after hitting NEW ENTRY, but again, once I hit save, the main body text disappears. The title still appears. Very wierd....

If you go to your "edit" entries screen and click on one of the titles that became "blanK", do you then get the entry?

You understand what I am trying to say?
johnkranz
Let me try running another test and report back what happens. I understand the question.
johnkranz
Hmm...false alarm?

I'm not sure if my ISP may have already checked storage capacity or not, but the problem apparently has resolved itself. I was able to create and save a new entry and no data was lost.
