Hello --

Any advice on how to accomplish the following would be greatly appreciated:

We have...

- Public blog on home page @ "www.site.com/blog/"
- Posts on home page that show excerpt only w/ permalink
- Permalinks from home page posts that go to the complete posts behind a password-protected directory @ "/blog/private/".

Question:

We would like to display the "recent posts" links on the home page and other public MT pages. However, when people click on those links, we would like them to see a page that only displays the excerpt of the post, located @ "/blog/public/".

If they want to read the whole story, they would then click on the permalink, taking them to the post located in the password-protected "/blog/private/" directory.

Do you know if/how this can be done?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Simplest way, not involving MT in any way is to use htaccess protection on /blog/pribvate directory. But all the limitations associated with htaccess will come into play.
