I'm working on moving my Home Theater site over to be a MT site. One thing I want to do is to have a template that lists all the DVD reviews I've written. Unfortunately, none of the sort options really work for something like a movie title, as you don't want to sort on the word "The", for instance. So I'd want as the title of the review to be "The Anniversary Party", but I'd want to sort it as if it were "Anniversary Party, The". I'm thinking a work around would be to use the sort on exerpt option, and just create an exerpt that was the correct sortable name. But that's not all that great, because then I lose, of course, having a good exerpt.
Is there any other way to do this? If not, maybe a new sortable field could be added? It'd be even more flexible if the field would be used if it is there, but otherwise use the title, or some such.

How about
MTCollate? Seems perfect for that kind of application?

The problem is that MTCollate seems to only work on existing bits of data. I need to add a new, hidden field. For instance, something that sorted on Keywords would work, as I would just add a keyword that was the title done in the sort fashion I want to use. In this case, it is like Maltin uses in his movie book, where you compress all the spaces and put a few short articles at the end (A, An, and The). It's the best way to sort movie titles, as they can get confusing otherwise.
I will look more closely at MTCollate. Perhaps I can add a field for Keyword.

There is already a Keyword field available; if you can't see it, log in to your admin interface, and click the link at the bottom of the screen that says "customize this screen".
Does that help?

Yes, I knew about the Keywords field; I just wasn't sure I could sort on them using MTCollate. But it turns out I can, so that's a viable option.
Too bad it isn't a standard sort option, though.

You can sort on excerpt, if you wanted to use a standard one, then just create all your exceprts from the entry body.
Just another way around it. =)

I had thought about using the Excerpt field, but the problem with using it is that the RSS feed uses this to send out if it is there, so a nearly random, squashed-together movie title doesn't make much of an entry
But the MTCollate seems to be working fine, and I hadn't envisioned using the keyword field for anything else anyway.
