We're a bit behind with this release since we're still in the process of moving (residence) and we're connecting via a dial-up. We're probably going to hold off releasing the beta until we get back from Texas (original plans called for releasing it before we went) because we want to be able to answer questions in a timely matter -- and frankly, that isn't going to be possible while on the road.

We're also looking for mirrors to host the downloads since we're maxing out our bandwidth.  I know, long answer for a rather straight-forward question. Look for it between the 15th-20th.

Mena: Have you considered submitting to download.com for mirroring?

Arrrgh, not till the 15-20th..?  I wanted to get MT 2.0 set up and running on my website before going off for surgery (on the 20th), so I can blog using it in my hospital room!  (I have MT 1.4 running okay, I just wanted the diversion of exploring a new interface as I'll be bored out of my mind having tests run for two days before surgery, and can't FTP into my ISP as I'll be using a temporary AOL account to sign on.)

(Don't suppose I could possibly get into a last-minute BETA testing team, eh... ;^)

Hey there,

I just got a new account to move my NT-based pages to a Unix host where I'm gonna install MT. I want to get this rolling ASAP. I assume everyone would recommend waiting for 2.0 instead of installing 1.4 now and upgrading. Any idea how long I'll be waiting?   smile.gif

I just found out about MT from the recent Screensavers spot on TechTV. I was going to wait for 2.0 also but I couldn't so I installed the current version biggrin.gif My thinking, and so far it has proved true, is that since I have never done a blog before there is going to be considerable set-up time, ie. site design, template tweaking, installation of MT, etc. By the time 2.0 rolls out I doubt I'll even be finished my site design but at least I'll have a grip on the ins and outs of installing MT (it can be tricky depending on your server setup).

Mena: I would consider mirroring 2.0 for you guys. I have anonymous ftp capability on my server through my host.
