Hi,

I have been using MT for a long time now, but recently due to school have not logged since roughly October of last year. When I log into MT, everything runs fine, and my site looks fine. It will let me post an entry and it says its published it, and it will be listed in the entries listing. But, it does not appear on my index.html page, and if I hit Rebuild Site, and tell it to rebuild the whole site, it will just sit there and never finish.
Does the MT scripting break down after a while? And if it did, why would everything appear to be working normally? Thanks in advance! Help is much appreciated.

With regard to the rebuild hanging, do you have any popup stoppers, firewalls or similar running? Many users running ZoneAlarm, or Norton Internet security need to set their site as a "trusted site" or whatever.

When you say "listed in the entries listing", do you mean within the MT interface itself? It's definitely set to Publish, and not Draft? Are Archive pages being generated?

What do you have the "Number of Days to display" set to in Weblog Config | Preferences? Is the entry you're posting within that time frame?

If you simply rebuild the Main Index Template (go to edit it, and click Rebuild underneath the Template Body box), does it rebuild?

Are the paths on your server still correct, ie, has your host made any changes to your directories, for example?

Hopefully one of these questions will spark something for you. If not, please post back. A link to your site might be helpful. Details of your Site URL, Local Site Path and so on might also be helpful, as well as a link to your mt-check.cgi.

Hm, ok.

I do have Norton Firewall. I will check that.

Yes, i am sure it's on Publish, I have it set as default.

Now that I check, no archive pages have not been created. Does it have to do with the year change?

I have it set to show the last 5 entries, so shouldn't it show the latest one?

If I go to the template rebuild, it acts the same. Ie: it does not rebuild.

I'm having this same problem. My index is not rebuilding on my primary blog. I have checked within my user interface and seen and entry I created as well as two comments that aren't showing up on my index page. When I try and rebuild it does everything fine except it stalls on the index rebuild. The entry I created shows up on my archives page and the comments are tagged to their individual posts but nothing comes through on my index. Any idea why? I've been using MT for several months now and this is my first occurence.

Nevermind, I figured it out. I was looping something accidentally.

i was having the same problem.. my rebuilding just stopped working. I'm on my boyfriends computer and I forgot he has Norton Firewall. I disabled it.. tried rebuilding again and it worked fine! So.. try disabling firewalls or anything like that.

I am having the same problem. I have disabled ZoneAlarm but that did not work for me.
