On my Blog, using MT 2.661, in the Core Setup... if you leave the "WebLog Name" field empty, and then save it, it produces errors shown on the bottom of the window. (Scroll down)

Even after rebuilding.. it's still there.



Although it's not a major problem, and I don't see any problems occuring because of it, it's an annoyance to have errors dispalyed within MT.
Hope it gets fixes soon!

It seems to me you wouldn't want to leave the weblog name blank. The drop down boxes of your blogs wouldn't show names, nor would the main menu, probably not even a link to the blog. If you don't want to show the blogs name on your header, modifying the template would be a much neater solution. Or did you have another reason for noticing this?

I realized early on that leaving it blank doesnt show entries in the main menu, drop downs and such.
And yes, for a very short time, I was using that method instead of editing the template to not display the header.. but now that I've learned otherwise..

But the fact of the matter is, that leaving it blank does cause errors. So don't you think it deserves to be fixed?

I think that what we need is for MT to generate a warning if the Weblog Name field is left empty because it does cause problems so people shouldn't do it.
