When I use the default MT-search template and search for specific words which I know exist in certain entries, I have noticed the following behavior:

When searching for words which include special characters such as the Icelandic Þ - Æ - - Ö the search works fine. UNLESS the words have these letters at the beginning of the word, example: "Örn"

In those cases, it matters whether or not the search terms have the exact case as the words in the entries you're trying to find. "Örn" and "örn" would not yield the same results.

Another example to clarify further:

When searching for the person name: "Þorsteinn" I will get 10 entries. When I search for "þorsteinn" with the lower case Þ I get zero entries.

However, when searching for the weird word "Kæfa" the case doesn't matter. "Kæfa" and "kæfa" will return the same results since the special character is not at the beginning of the word.

Finally, if I search for the name "Jón Þorsteinsson" it yields the same result as "jón Þorsteinsson" but "Jón þorsteinsson" yields no results. So each word in the search phrase is independent of the others for these specific searches.

I just installed the latest version of MT 2.661 and I haven't made any modification, everything's set to default to make sure I can run tests until I get this working right. If you could fix this or provide an explanation on how I could fix this I would be most grateful.
