I just installed the new, more secure mt-send-entry.cgi. I put two email addresses in the "to" field to see what would happen. I got this error in my browser:
Got an error: Invalid from or to value at /usr/home/emsdc/public_html/cgi-bin/mt-send-entry.cgi line 41.
That seems appropriate since the new cgi is supposed to prevent users from sending to multiple addresses, but this error message will be confusing to many people, since there's no warning that this behavior is prohibited and the error message isn't specific about the cause of the problem.
Is there a way to edit the error message to tell people that they can't sent to multiple addresses? Some other fix?
Thanks.

It looks like you'd need to hack mt-send-entry.cgi to do that.

Hi I have the same problem
I have problem putting multiple emails when I want to send the post to a friend.
Look at the side bar, where it said "Get Notified" seem that the entry only support 1 email address per time, anyone knows how to solve that?

Signing up for the notification and sending a notification and the send-entry.cgi script aren't the same things.
For the notification form on your page: I'm trying to imagine why would someone need to enter more than one address there?

well 1 email for corporate email, and the other for personal; or they want to share with other friends who are interested in the new entry etc etc.
is there a way to do it.

So, then we're still talking about send-entry.cgi? If so, my previous answer still applies. Can you code in Perl?

I wonder if anyone has anything to say about the error message I reported in the first post in this thread? As of now, I'm still not sure what to do about this problem. This strikes me as an odd breakdown for this cgi to have... I mean, unless I'm missing something, I can't imagine the designers of mt-send-entry.cgi really want that very user-unfriendly error message to show up every time someone tries to send to multiple emails... right?

i dont lilke the unfriendly error message either.
Why cant the MT allow people to use multiple email addresses to forward an entry, this is so common in other applications.

Has this ever been solved? I agree completely with the previous comment:

If an error occurs when users try to send an entry, I'd like to know that a message is displayed that enables users to understand and correct the error.

How are people handling "send this entry" functionality? I'm using mine at
http://www.nature-notes.co.uk/archive/250/entry.php but I'm not happy with it because it cannot handle errors in a clean manner. For example, if you click send without populating any of the fields, you simply get:
Got an error: Invalid email address at mt-shr-art.cgi line 44.
I renamed my mt-send-entry.cgi but this message reveals what I named it to, so I'm not sure why I bothered. It's also far from user-friendly.
Did I miss a fix for this? What are others doing to enable emailing entries??
Thanks
